Performance of the Musical "The Ultimate Musical"

About the show:

The "Ultimate Musical" began in 2004 as a 15-minute film and music project in one of Mike von der Nahmer's film directing classes at UCLA. After completing the script, he contacted previous classmate and lyricist Virginia Emrick to write the opening and closing songs. Two weeks later, they began auditioning actors and scouting film locations.

During the audition process, the collaborators decided to extend the show into a full length musical for live theatre, which they did over the course of the next three months. The show opened in Hollywood, California on October 11, 2004 for a stage reading to special invited guests. From there, it traveled to Munich, Germany for its premiere show on November 27, 2004, where it received press accolades.

The show is now 120 minutes long and contains over 20 original songs by the duo. It is set to tour throughout Southern Germany from March 2005 into 2006. Concurrently, it is under consideration at four theatres across the United States for a possible run starting in 2006.
